Abstract -
Henry walked down to the fire and was recognized by a few of the men in the regiment. He was too weak to make up a good story, so he just told them he had gotten separated somehow from the rest of them and had been fighting on the right side, and was shot in the head. Wilson looked at his head and told him the bullet must've just grazed his head because there wasn't a bullet, but a weird lump. He laid down by the fire, and only saw the faces of tired soldiers. After they finished fixing his head wound, the loud soldier gave Henry his blankets to sleep on and told him to go to bed. They fell asleep listening to the guns in the distance.
Response -
The way the soldiers reacted to Henry coming back showed how many men they'd lost. They all thought he was dead, and when he returned they just tried to make him comfortable and take care of him. One of the men told Henry how strong he was because he hadn't gone to the hospital with his head wound. I think that made Henry feel guilty because he wasn't worthy of the pride the men had in him.
Questions -
Does Henry want to stay with his regiment now that he knows they stand behind him, or is he still too scared to be part of the war?
